Al Beal,

Lump charcoal is available from True Value Hardware stores item #145607 or ServiceStar Hardware #66990.I pay around $9 for a 20 Lb bag. You have to get them to special order it but it is always available to them "if" they want to order it for you. Offer to buy 4-5 bags since they have to buy a min quantity from their warehouse.

Also, a bag of lump lasts a lot longer than briquettes, so don't compare the two. A 20 lb bag of lump lasts me about a month on my large and about 2+ on my small.

Al Beal,
Some Wal-Mart's carry lump at reasonable prices. K-Mart sells Martha Stuart Sugar Maple Charwood (lump) for about $5 per 8.8 pounds. True Value and Servistar also sell the stuff. Good luck!!
