11/06/99 - Beer Butt Chicken |

11:30pm - I washed the bird, rubbed it with olive oil, covered it with JJ's rub, covered it with plastic and put in the refrigerator. 02:30pm - On the BGE - While the beer can the chicken is sitting on is 'Miller Lite' the contents were drained (in a proper manner) and replaced the contents with a 1/2 can of Guinness. During the process, the bird was sprayed with apple juice every 30-45 minutes. I guess I'm just into Guinness and Apple Juice this week! |

Prepare Egg to cook at 225. Cook
for 3 to 3½ hours - The internal temperature should be 175° to
180°.
06:32pm - Off the grill and ready to cut. After removing the can, the bird was served. |
