7/22/2000 - Rib Eye Steaks

It has been 6 days since we fired up the BGE - last Monday we had most all of the floors on the main floor removed and replaced with 3/4 inch oak flooring. Today we spent the day moving the furniture back and cleaning the house - lots of dust.

Just returned from my local butcher with 2 - 1.3 inch rib eye steaks, 1 chicken that we will cook as Anthony Up North's Butterfly Chicken and (would you believe) a rack of baby back ribs.

[07_22_00][15_58]_02.jpg (244110 bytes) These 2 rib eye steaks came from the butcher (along with a few other things) this afternoon. First cook in 6 days!
[07_22_00][17_59]_02.jpg (366824 bytes) The steaks were cooked at 2/2/5/4... at high heat (approximately 750 degrees dome) I did two minutes on each side. Then I let them sit for five minutes, turned them over and let them sit for another 4 minutes.

Results... great steak!
